Materials

Here at JPM Coachworks, we use top shelf materials in every aspect of our work. When you want to offer the best, you have to start with the best. Here's a quick overview of our core materials that make up most of our items and custom interiors.

Leather
The leather we use is imported from Vicenza, Italy. The hides are full grain leather with even coloration throughout. Each hide features a supple soft hand and an impeccably smooth surface that makes it one of the most beautiful types of leather available. The finish is protected, making it suitable for automotive use.

In addition, the leathers we use are processed using low emission mineral tanning formulas which are environmentally friendly. Each hide is re-tanned in aged oak drums using vegetable agents, natural fat liquors and oils along with dyes that ensure the leather is properly through dyed. No PCP or CFC is used during the tanning process. A water-based finish is applied to provide an even coloration and protection to the leather

When you order any item, especially seats, from JPM Coachworks, you can be assured that the item is 100% leather. Most aftermarket seat manufacturers sell a product that is only 60% leather and 40% matching vinyl. Most people think "wow, vinyl sure has come a long way when it matches that well to leather." The fact is, their leather is just so treated and processed, that it looks more like vinyl.

Alcantara
Alcantara is world renowned for its elegance. We work exclusively with the Alcantara brand due to its versatility for project applications. We do not work with “Alcantara-like” or other imitation material. The choice of using Alcantara is simple. It is a material that blends the distinct line between sport-performance and luxury. Alcantara seamlessly allows our projects to maintain functionality and beauty. Alcantara is not for the ordinary automobile owner; it is a style shared by the most prestigious automotive enthusiasts. Take a quick look over at the Genuine Alcantara section under the Information box to your left to find out about the history of this material and why you shouldn't settle for less.

UV Protected Polyester Thread
Here is something that most shops cut corners on all the time. Just about every shop that does custom interior work settles for a cheap thin thread in any fiber they can get it in. Why do they do this? Well, to put it simply, it is very difficult to find a good selection of colors in a thread that is as thick as OEM applications and is made from a fade resistant polyester. We go out of our way to make sure we're not only using a thick thread that will stand out, but we also make sure we're not using sub par fibers that will fade over time. It may be a bit harder to work with and a lot harder to find the right colors but, we feel that the extra effort on our part makes for a superior product that we are proud to put our name on.
